Phyllis Levy labels her work as "lyrical abstraction."
Abstract art is art from which direct reference to an object is removed.
Lyricism is the expression of positive emotion which is engendered
by, in Phyllis' case, the natural world. Her perception of natural
beauty is transformed into art with paint, predominantly acrylics,
on paper and canvas.
Her work has been shown in galleries and exhibitions in Maryland,
Washington D.C., Virginia, New York, and Florida. Her paintings
have been sold to private collectors as well as for commercial and
professional use.
